From input to answer.
- Set the region to Canada and open All Tools → Ampacity.
- Select copper or aluminum, conductor size and the supported installation arrangement.
- Enter insulation rating, lowest applicable terminal rating, ambient temperature and counted current-carrying conductors.
- Read corrected ampacity and Calculation details & scope. Check the base value and each applied factor.

- Use the lowest applicable termination rating rather than assuming the insulation rating applies at terminals.
- Count current-carrying conductors under the applicable rules; do not simply reuse the conduit-fill quantity.
Know the limits.
- Uses the supported CEC 2024 Tables 1–4 and correction-factor workflow. It is not a universal installation calculator.
- Breaker selection, special equipment rules, small-conductor restrictions and local amendments need separate review. Free-air treatment must match the actual installation.

Common questions.
Does 90°C insulation mean I can use a 90°C terminal rating?
No. Enter the actual applicable terminal rating separately.
